The Accu-SPINA® delivers IDD Therapy® (Intervertebral Differential Dynamics), a treatment protocol that combines targeted decompression with a programmed cycle of pull, hold, and release. Where the DRX9000 excels at deep lumbar work, the Accu-SPINA® gives us a second, highly adaptable option — including precise cervical (neck) decompression.

Having both systems under one roof is deliberate. Different spines, different disc levels, and different injuries respond to different setups, and being able to choose between two of the leading decompression platforms means your care is matched to your spine rather than to whatever machine happens to be in the room.

    What a session looks like

    1. 1You're positioned comfortably — face up, with support under the knees for lumbar work or a cradle for cervical work.
    2. 2The therapist programs your prescribed angle, force, and cycle timing into the system.
    3. 3The IDD cycle runs about 20-25 minutes while you rest.
    4. 4Supporting care — laser, adjustment, or home instructions — is added as your plan calls for it.

    What makes this system different

The details that decide whether decompression actually reaches the disc.

    Neck and low back

Cervical decompression is a genuine strength here — valuable for disc-related neck pain with arm symptoms.

    Programmed IDD cycle

The pull-hold-release pattern encourages fluid and nutrient exchange in a disc that has very little blood supply of its own.

    Adjustable angle of pull

The treatment angle can be dialed in degree by degree to isolate the level your exam and imaging point to.

    Gentle and quiet

Sessions are calm and undramatic. You'll feel a slow stretch and release, not a machine wrestling with you.

    The evidence

What the Research Says About IDD Therapy® on the Accu-SPINA®

IDD Therapy® has been studied for both the low back and the neck, with outcome data going back more than twenty years and new peer-reviewed cohort data published in 2026.

Honest context: the largest of these are observational outcome studies without a placebo group, and two circulate mainly through the manufacturer rather than a medical database. The 2026 cohort study is peer-reviewed but small, and its authors themselves call for randomized trials. We share these because they're the real evidence base — not because they guarantee your result.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Cervical decompression on the Accu-SPINA® uses low, carefully controlled forces and follows a full examination that screens for anything that would make it inappropriate. Most patients describe it as a mild, pleasant stretch.

It comes down to the region and level involved, your body type and comfort, and how you respond early in care. Dr. Cossifos will explain which system he's recommending for you and why.

It shouldn't. If anything feels uncomfortable, the treatment is adjusted or stopped on the spot — you're in control throughout the session.
