I Thought I Had a Brain Tumor
At sixteen, I started getting headaches so severe I was convinced something was seriously wrong. Three medical doctors examined me and none of them could tell me why. I was playing high school football at the time, and the pain was wrecking both my grades and my game. Like a lot of my teammates, I had lower back pain on top of it.
Then a teammate hurt his arm badly, and our coach took five of us to see a chiropractor. With my parents' consent, the doctor examined me and found several misaligned vertebrae in my spine. He adjusted my neck — and my headaches were gone.
What he told me that day stayed with me: every part of the body is controlled by the brain and nervous system, and pain is the way the body tells us something is wrong. My teammate got full strength back in his arm, and three of the other players had excellent results too.
